About Me: From Outsourced Engineer to Independent Developer

に公開

👋 About Me
Hi, I'm Shota, a Japanese IT engineer currently building a travel-related service for international visitors. I specialize in infrastructure, automation (IaC), and backend development. I'm also preparing to relocate to Europe, with Poland as my primary target.

🌍 What I'm Building
I'm developing a personal web service that helps foreign tourists explore Japan more easily. It includes smart suggestions based on user input, infrastructure built with IaC and containers, and a focus on user-friendly design. I'll combining my technical skills with my real-world interest in tourism and cultural exchange, and I'm currently studying for the AWS SAP and Java Developer certifications while prototyping the core features of my service.

🚫 My Struggles with the Japanese IT Industry
I started my career in Japan's SES (System Engineering Services) model, which often means being sent to client sites with limited control over your role or growth. Despite working hard and gaining certifications, I often felt undervalued and mentally exhausted from poor project management and toxic environments. I realized this structure wasn’t sustainable for my career or well-being.

✨ Why I Chose to Build on My Own
Rather than wait for ideal conditions, I decided to create what I wanted to use and work in. This led me to personal development and service design. My goal is to create systems that are not just technically sound but also meaningful and impactful.

🌏 What's Next
I aim to complete and release the first version of my service by next year. After that, I plan to move to Poland and work either as a freelancer or in a tech company where I can contribute more directly. I also plan to continue sharing what I learn along the way through content creation and open-source projects.
