nodejsのバージョン管理とかで大人気のvolta
少し雲行きが怪しいです。

事の発端

ubuntu24.04を再インストールした

で、まあvoltaでnodeを入れようとしたわけですよ。
そしたら

エラーです。

なんで？

どうやらcurlをsnapでインストールすると発生するようです。aptだと大丈夫な模様。バージョンか？

これをvoltaのgithubで報告したのですが…

No one's maintaining it, the project should be shut down.

「誰もメンテナンスしていないのだから、プロジェクトは中止すべきだ。」とのコメントが。

確かに2025年6月30日時点で3ヶ月以上も更新がない。ちょっと不安である。

voltaの代替を探す

2つ見つけました。

1.Proto

Proto

pnpmも使えるしuninstallコマンドもある。GoとかPythonもいける。

2.mise

mise-en-place

最近windowsにも対応した模様。こちらもGoとかいけそう。

どうしよう

githubに勢いのあるProtoを使ってみようかと思います。
