GNOMEであれば簡単なのに(??)

askubuntuの記事 を探すと、gnome-remote-desktop.service というキーワードで調べてもいくつかトラブルがあるようです。簡単なのに簡単ではないのがGNOMEあるある。

Xubuntu(XFce4)使 いの私・・・

  • gnome-remote-desktop.service をほとんど知らない・・・

vncはどうなった？

vncserver とかを探していましたが、半プロプラエタリ化の波（RealVNC...)でいくつにも分岐したバリアントの開発は鈍化している感じがあります。

セキュリティ問題？

セキュリティ問題に敏感でなくてもリモートから画面を操作することに抵抗があることは否めません。　そもそも VNCの通信プロトコル　RFB-Protocolは単純で軽いことから低い転送帯域でも我慢すれば動きます。暗号化などの技術は後付けです。その後付けのサービス部分で差別化と商品化が進んだとも言えます。

いまどきはGhostBSD/FreeBSDでもRDPが使えます

  • Remmina は、RDP/VNC　の　おしゃれな　デスクトップ実装です。　Remmina
  • 動くなら、RDPでいいじゃない。Ubuntuでもさんざんお世話になっています。

本題：　Xubuntu で RDP service　を動かすには？

  • grdpctl を使えば、　RDPサービスを制御できると知りました。　そこで・・
% grdctl status

  • inactive です。 無論、3389/tcp も開いていないようです。
  • ここの記事　を読んで、サービスが動いてないように思われましたので・・・
Failed to connect to bus: メディアが見つかりません
  • どうも　D-Bus のことだとわかりました。　この間から小生のUbuntuのぶっ壊れ状態は、日々の些末事に使えるレベルではあれ、ところどころが止まっています。
  • D-Bus環境の修復にかかりましょう。

  • ちょっと正解に近づいた感があります。root権限でないと制御出来ないと？　最近では一般ユーザ権限でディスプレイ資源をイジれる状態が常態だと思っていたので・・・

コレが問題の核?? 違うかなー

氷山としての TPM問題浮上？？？

Ubuntu も　TPMを使っているのですね・・・

動きそうな予感。

結論: gnome-remote-desktop は gnome-desktop 環境を動かせ

  • そもそも XFce4上でイジっていてもパスワードの設定すらわからないというのが実情です。

  • そして入力した簡単なパスワードが置き換えられてしまいます・・・それではつながるはずがない。

  • 一応ここに至る前に、システムアップデートを一回通したので、XFce4 でも動くかどうか試しましたが、RDPのサービスは動きません。残念です。

おまけ: xrdp を入れてみた。

  • xrdpに関する記事　がありまして参考に入れてみたんですが・・・

  • 真似したところでは、xsession 的に使うパターンで、単純にデスクトップ共有するようにしたかったのとは合わない　＆　ログインも失敗（xsessionがちょっと壊れているのもある） ので、様子見ですね。

  • 正直私もWayland実装を手伝えるといいんですが・・・。
