create-react-app service worker 更新タイミングまとめ
create-react-appでservice workerを作成した。preload cacheもうまく動く。ただ、ホスティングサービスでアップデートがあっても service-workerのアップデートが走らない。タブを閉じて開き直すか、ハードリロードしなければupdateされない。

service worker のupdateトリガーを調べてみた。
- アップデートは、次の場合にトリガーされます:
- スコープ内ページへのナビゲーション時
-
push
やsync
などの機能イベントの発生時(24 時間以内にアップデート チェックが実行された場合を除く) -
.register()
の呼び出し時(Service Worker URL が変更された場合のみ)
- 前回のスクリプトの更新確認から 24 時間以上経過した場合
- それ以外にもブラウザが任意のタイミングで更新確認をすることが仕様上許可されています。例えば Chrome では Fetch イベントや Push イベントの発火などによって Service Worker が起動するときに更新確認しています2。
- また、ServiceWorkerRegistration オブジェクトの
update()
によって JavaScript から明示的に更新確認することができます。
スコープ内ページへのナビゲーション時
これSPAの場合だとページ移動されてもupdateがトリガーされてない気がする。
以下のstackoverflowでも同じこと書かれている。
Because your SPA doesn't use real navigations, you won't get the automatic update checks mentioned in the first bullet point.
What I'd probably do is to modify your SPA's router and automatically make a call to reg.update() whenever your router is about to switch to a new view. That would simulate the same update-on-navigation behavior that you'd get in a non-SPA.
つまり、routerでlistenしてページ変わるごとに、service workerを手動でupdateさせるしかないよとのこと。
しかしこのJeffさん service woker 関連のstack overflowにめっちゃでてくる笑
その結果、コメントである人が解決策を実装してみている。
