App Information

What is MeatSafe?

MeatSafe is an app that allows you to easily manage the expiration dates of your meat products. It was developed as a partner to help you consume refrigerated and frozen meat products safely without waste.

System Requirements

  • iOS 18.0 or later
  • Compatible with iPhone and iPad
  • Storage required: approximately 50MB

Feature Guide

Basic Usage

  1. Launch the app and tap the "+" button to register a new meat product
  2. Select the meat type (beef, pork, chicken) and cut
  3. Choose the storage method (refrigerated or frozen)
  4. The expiration date will be automatically set, but you can change it if needed
  5. Tap the "Register and Continue" button to save

Notification Settings

  • You will receive a notification at 9:00 AM on the expiration date
  • You will also receive a notification at 9:00 AM on the day before the expiration date
  • To receive notifications, you must allow notifications for MeatSafe in your iOS Settings app

Calendar Feature

  • The calendar screen allows you to visually check expiration dates
  • Tap on a date to see meat products expiring on that day

Consumed Check

  • When you consume a meat product, you can tap the item to mark it as consumed
  • Consumed items will move to a separate section

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How are the expiration dates calculated?

A: MeatSafe sets typical expiration date periods based on meat type and cut. For example:

  • Chicken (thigh, breast, tenderloin): 2 days refrigerated
  • Pork (loin, belly): 3 days refrigerated
  • Beef (loin, round): 4 days refrigerated
    For frozen items, a standard 30-day period is set.

Q: I'm not receiving notifications. What should I do?

A: Please check the following:

  1. Make sure notifications are allowed for MeatSafe in your iOS Settings app
  2. Check that Do Not Disturb mode is not enabled
  3. Update the app to the latest version

Q: Can I back up my data?

A: Currently, data is stored locally on your device. If you move to a new device, you will need to re-register your information. We plan to add data migration features in future updates.

Q: Can I register food items other than meat?

A: The current version is specialized for meat products, but we plan to expand the scope in future updates.

  1. Restart your device
  2. Update the app to the latest version

If Data Disappears

There is currently no recovery feature if you accidentally delete data. Please use the app carefully.
