New: iPhone 17 Pro Max

iPhone 17 Pro Max

1. Apply screen protector
2. Attach protective case
3. Power on the device
4. Use the standard Apple migration feature that appears at startup to migrate
5. Cellular settings → Set up later
6. Software → Update now
7. Face ID setup
8. Transfer directly from iPhone (previous time was via iCloud)
9. Wait for apps to download
10. Migrate credit cards in Wallet (CVC required)

Logging in to each app

Some apps carry over login information, while others do not, so log in as needed.

1. iOS Standard Mail App - Might not be necessary on iPhone 17

   • Check one by one to see if authentication has expired
   • If authentication has expired, log in

2. Slack

   • You can smoothly add workspaces by displaying a QR code in the desktop Slack app and scanning it with the new device.

3. LINE

   • Old device
     • Back up chats
       • Settings > Chats > Chat Backup
   • New device
     • Chat history was restored after logging in with phone number and ID/password
     • I expected a QR code scanning screen to appear during the process, but it didn't (did I miss it?)
       • Easy migration via QR code transfer
       • Then, restore from chat backup

Wallet Migration

Changing Apple Watch Pairing

1. Open the Apple Watch app and follow the instructions
2. Do I need to move Mobile Suica from the Apple Watch to the old device before migrating? Need to verify next time.
