How to Capture Multiple Meta Quest Screens Using scrcpy on macOS

Prerequisites

• OS: MacOS (likely possible on Windows using the same steps)
• Adb (Android Debug Bridge) and scrcpy must be installed
• Device: Meta Quest 2

Steps

1. Connect the device to your Mac:

   • First, connect your Meta Quest device to your Mac using a USB cable. The device must be set to developer mode.

2. Get the device serial number:

   • Open the terminal and run the following command to get the serial number of the connected device.

     adb devices -l
     

   • Running the above command will display detailed information for all connected devices. Note the serial number of the required device.

3. Start capturing with scrcpy:

   • To capture multiple devices simultaneously, run the scrcpy command for each device's serial number.
   • Use the following command to start the screen capture of your Meta Quest device. Replace SERIAL_NUMBER with the actual serial number of your device.

     scrcpy --stay-awake --max-size 1024 --crop 1534:972:80:532 --serial SERIAL_NUMBER
     

     • The --stay-awake option prevents the device from entering sleep mode.
     • The --max-size option specifies the maximum screen size. Here it is set to a width of 1024 pixels, but it can be adjusted as needed.
     • The --crop option is a setting for cropping the screen and can be adjusted according to the specified values.
     • (Optional) You can output a video file by adding the --record option and specifying a filename.

4. Manage capture for each device:

   • Open a separate terminal window for each device's serial number and run the above command.
   • This allows you to run screen captures for multiple Meta Quest devices simultaneously.

Now you can perform screen captures for multiple Meta Quest devices at the same time. Adjust the capture settings as needed.
